Can you believe it? This is the 6th and final installment of the Living the N.O. F.E.A.R. Life blog series.
The R in N.O. F.E.A.R. stands for "Reach Forward."
I must say that me and my team have indeed reached forward in every way. The 4th Annual NO FEAR Ladies Conference just took place last Saturday and it was one for the history books. The photo above is just one shot of the packed house that included the largest crowd ever with 100+ women and 40+ teen girls pre-registered for the event! We had more vendors than ever 14 AND 2 massage therapists in the house to help us all loosen up a bit more as we heard from the panel of 8 amazing speakers and our fabulous emcee throughout the day. I share this because this year's conference indeed included some stretch goals and next level thinking in order to Reach Forward beyond the status quo.
Let me say this right now, if you want to go to the next level, you must do next level things. Here is how I took this already well-established event to the next level this year for my attendees (customers).
1. I hired an event planner
This may not sound like much, but as a person who works a full-time job in addition to speaking and hosting this large conference every year, at some point you have to stop being cheap and hire some professional help to keep everything sustainable. And I must tell you that Nicole Wright (Simply Wright Event Planning) was worth every penny. I was able to breath much easier knowing she had everything under control from 4 months ago when we first began working together until 4:30pm when we exited the building after event teardown.
2. I shot a professional commercial
I thought my husband was crazy when he suggested this, but it took my event and its promotion both this year and in the future to a whole new level. Having a professional promotional piece can help spread the word like wildfire. And you can see it too by clicking here.
3. I added new elements to the conference.
Number 1, I introduced the N.O. F.E.A.R. Lady Award and presented the inaugural awards to a Community Celebrity and an Unsung Hero. This award is now a new element that attendees can look forward to witnessing each year AND they can participate by nominating women they feel are deserving which allows community participation in the process.
Number 2, adding the massage therapists to the venue allowed women to learn and get pampered which is a bit different from the experience at many conferences. My goal is for the NO FEAR Ladies Conference to be known as an "experience", not just another conference.
Enough about me, here is how this whole Reach Forward thing relates to you.
Here are the 3 Keys to Reach Forward in your personal life or business:
1. Stay open to improving upon what you are already doing
2. Don't be afraid to try something new-the results may surprise you!
3. Take advantage of available resources to help you do more (i.e. my event planner)
If you keep these 3 things in mind, you are sure to Reach Forward in both your personal and professional life.
