Installment 4: The N.O. F.E.A.R. Life E is for Expose Yourself to Ne

Installment Four: Living the N.O. F.E.A.R. Life blog series. I will post a new installment each month through August when the 2017 NO FEAR Ladies Conference will take place.

N.O. F.E.A.R. is an acronym for a life concept that I created back in August 2014, just before my first NO FEAR Ladies Conference and one I try my best to live by.

The E in N.O. F.E.A.R. stands for "Expose yourself to new things."

Albert Einstein once said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

This could not be more true. However many of us are guilty of doing this very thing and thus living life in a rut. I am not saying that you should not have a repeatable routine for certain things (i.e. taking the most efficient route to work), but staying in the safe zone of repetitiveness should not be your rule for life.

Having a sense of adventure and doing new things that are outside the box or beyond the familiar keeps us alive, vibrant and on our toes. I would even argue with 100% confidence that in order to be "great", one has to be willing to take some risks, step out on a limb and just do something different.

The difference between the pack and the leader of the pack is that she or he at some point in life made an intentional decision to expose themselves to new things, experiences, people, places, jobs, environments, etc, in order to accomplish something bigger and better than the rest.

How does one gain new exposure? I say it starts in our youth. Were you the child who only played the games and sports that your friends participated in, or were you willing to step off the beaten path every once in awhile? Did you dress like and shop at all the same places as your friends or did you venture into the unique stores that were one-of-a-kind or on the other side of town in order to develop your own fashion style?

Now as an adult, are you willing to take risks or do you tend to play it safe? No matter how old you are, I encourage you to expose yourself to new things (people and places) to get the most out of life, to keep learning, to live life to the fullest.

Start your bucket list now to create a path of discovery that will allow you to expose yourself to new things!

For more NO FEAR nuggets, be sure to register for the 2017 NO FEAR Ladies Conference for women and teen girls, in Edmond, OK, (just north of Oklahoma City) on August 19th, at www.bit.ly/2qnKVK4.
