Installment 5: The N.O. F.E.A.R. Life A is for Act on Opportunities to Launch Yourself

Where has all the time gone? This is the 5th installment (only one more left) leading up to the 2017 NO FEAR Ladies Conference.

The A in N.O. F.E.A.R. stands for "Act on opportunities to launch yourself."

The photo above features a beautifully designed, vibrant hot air balloon soaring gracefully through the sky. We can also assume there is at least one passenger in the small basket at the base of the balloon. You don't have to be a hot air balloon expert to understand that the only way that this balloon will leave the ground is if the conditions are just right for takeoff.

A perfect launch depends on the weather, temperature, air pressure going into the balloon and the weight of the passengers inside. When all of these factors are just right, the balloon operator knows it is time to take off with the passengers. What would be the point if all the conditions were right, but the hot air balloon operator refused to leave the ground?

This may sound silly, but people do this all the time in real life. Let's put this in life terms. If you want a promotion on your job, you've observed the people in that role, taken note of what they are doing on a daily basis, you have read the official job description and gotten a very good performance review, you interview for the job and get the offer, what would stop you from taking it?

Too many people let the very opportunity they want slip by out of, you guessed it, FEAR. When an opportunity comes your way (to write that book, start a business, get that promotion, take a dream vacation, etc), you absolutely must act on it. Just because the opportunity train comes by and stops where you are once, that does not mean it will stop again. Therefore you cannot afford to let good opportunities go by when they come.

Here are 4 key points to prepare you to Act when the right opportunity comes:

1. Pray about it and make sure it's God's will.

2. Have an expectation of the opportunity you want to come your way

3. Get yourself in position to ACT when the time comes

4. Solicit the help of your support system to encourage you along the way

Keeping all of this in mind, did you act on the last opportunity that came your way? If not, why? Are you ready to Act if the opportunity of a lifetime comes your way? How can you properly prepare if you are not yet ready?
