HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY AND OTHER GOOD STUFF!
To all the mothers who support WYJUANA SPEAKS, I want to say Happy Mother's Day! I hope you enjoy the pics of me and my beautiful mother, Shirley and the photo of me and my beautiful daughter, Tavia. This Mother's Day weekend is somewhat bittersweet as I am able to celebrate with my mother who is a breast cancer survivor, but we lost my precious mother-in-law on St. Patrick's Day due to breast cancer that metastasized to other parts of her body. I am lovingly supporting my husband as he experiences this first Mother's Day without seeing her on video phone and hearing her sweet voice. We all miss her and the past 2 months have been some of the hardest times of our life, but we are coming out stronger and better on this side (Sidenote: I unexpectedly lost my father to a heart attack exactly one week after my mother-in-law's funeral).
To put things back on a bright note, I hope that if you are a mother, your day is filled with rest, good food and any other treasures your heart may have desired. My husband and children know that on Mother's Day I plan not to lift a finger to any housework and my kids usually prepare me Breakfast in Bed before church. It has been funny to see the different meals they have come up with over the years, from chopped scrambled eggs and cooked hotdogs to the finest french toast with fruit...yes it has gotten better as they have gotten older (my daughter is now 12 and my son is 17).

While we are on the topic of mother's, let talk about you as a woman in general.
I would be remiss if I did not mention my upcoming conference for women and teen girls.
